Lymphatic massage is a massage form that addresses the fluid body (and we are mostly fluid, approx 60-80%). It is a deeply relaxing technique that gently pumps, imitating the body's way of moving its fluids. It is a non-oil massage, rhythmic and hypnotic.
Lymphatic massage is the most effective massage for circulation, and especially any form of edema (swelling). It can be used for post traumatic injury or surgery to reduce the swelling and speed up the healing time. It can also be used to help treat migraines, sinusitis, acne, tinnitus, and high blood pressure. It is helpful wherever there is poor circulation, or a need for detoxification.
The Lymphatic system keeps the water of the body clean, and the pumping of the nodes during Lymphatic massage stimulates the production of various white blood cells and thus boosts the immune system. It is ideal for assisting the body during a cleanse or fast, as the nodes (approx. 750 in the body) are where cell debris, and bacteria are broken down and processed, and invading organisms and disease cells are neutralized. It is safe for most everyone to receive, including the elderly, as it is very noninvasive, as well as having a calming effect on the nervous system (the rhythm mimics an alpha wave). It should only be avoided when there is an active inflection or cancer, or approached cautiously in cases where the body is extremely toxic, as it will then work counter to the body's mechanisms which are acting to isolate those cells that are needing to be broken down.
The full body lymphatic massage will require an hour and a half session; an hour can be used to focus on your personal areas of need, and a half hour is good for the leg, neck and face massage, which is very uplifting.
